Once the item has arrived at our location, we can help you start the paperwork (ATF Form 5320.4). Unfortunately the law states that we cannot start the Form 4 until the item is in our possession. The Form 4 is the paperwork that transfers the NFA item into your possession. Also with the Form 4, ATF charges a onetime fee of $200.00 for the item. This is referred to as the Tax Stamp. The time period of an approval on a Form 4 varies. It typically takes anywhere from 4 to 9 months. Once approved, we will contact you and then it is your to take home.
We know what it feels like to invest money in something that you cannot take home when you paid for it. From time to time, we can do what it known as a “conjugal visit”. What does that mean? We like to go shooting, we are known to take along our customers and let them enjoy the NFA item while pending approval. Unfortunately, once done shooting it for the day, it has to come home with us and go back in storage until your Form 4 is approved.
If you purchase a Suppressor or Short Barrel Rifle (SBR) from us, there is no fee for the paperwork or storage of the item until the FORM 4 is approved. We do charge a $90.00 fee if the item is bought from another dealer (With the exception of the Powered by Silencer Shop option) and transferred to us. Don’t worry; we are covered by insurance in the case of fire, flood, or any damage that can occur. While your item is in storage, it will not be touched by anybody that is not an employee.
Below is a small list of the ATF Forms that commonly pertain to purchasing NFA items:

- ATF F 5320.4 (Form 4) — Application For Tax Paid Transfer and Registration of Firearm (Dealer to you transfer.)
